Learning lines process

To learn my lines, I start off by highlighting all my lines and stage directions to help me notice them more and focus on them.

Then what I do is read over the lines a couple of times and try saying the line without looking at the script and every time I try to say the line I check afterwards if I got it correct word for word. After feeling confident with the lines, I then add the actions. Such as when it says before I speak (Laughing) in brackets, this helps me with how to say the line.

As we started off blocking Act 1, I have learnt my lines for the whole of Act 1 first, just to get comfortable with them. I have learnt the word/line before my next line so I know when to come in with my next line.

By blocking it a few times at college, it gives me a chance to get used to the lines even more and feel more confident with them.
